Address checks
The checker sends your address by same-origin POST, then to the U.S. Census geocoder. After you confirm a match, coordinates go to USDA Soil Data Access and Census county lookup; the county identifier goes to the U.S. Drought Monitor. Each provider handles requests under its own policies.
We do not create public address pages or store address profiles in a database. API and checker responses are no-store. Hosting, security and upstream providers may retain operational logs. Do not enter information beyond what is needed.
On-device storage and exports
Save on this device explicitly saves one report snapshot or one inspection notebook in this browser’s local storage. Nothing is synchronized to an account. Unsaved notebook edits remain in memory and are lost on leaving the page. Load and delete are explicit actions. Report snapshots can include coordinates and a label; notebooks include your entered notes, dates and photo references. Anyone with this browser profile may access saved content.
Print, JSON and CSV exports run on your device. Import reads a selected JSON locally and never uploads it. Photo references are text only; we do not upload photos. Deleted browser content does not remove files you exported separately. The soil-value interpreter does not transmit its entered values.
Private comparison boards
The comparison workspace keeps up to three reports in memory. Save this board stores a separate comparison in this browser only. Loading a saved board or importing JSON does not refresh its data or authenticate its contents. Delete saved board removes only the comparison, not your checker snapshot or notebook. Exported files remain on your device until you delete them. New address checks use the providers described above.
Inspection packs
The pack builder reads an existing report, comparison or notebook only when you explicitly load or import it. It keeps selections in the current tab, makes no new provider query and does not save or transmit a new pack. Exports include the fields shown in the preview, not the original raw files. Location identifiers and observation text are excluded by default. This is not guaranteed anonymization. Clearing a pack does not delete the original stored records or exported files.
Advertising
Private checks, comparison boards, notebooks, inspection packs, policy pages, APIs and error pages are ad-free. Eligible public editorial pages prepare the configured Google AdSense publisher. At launch ad serving is limited to traffic identified as United States; other and unknown regions remain suppressed pending required consent verification.
Where Google ads are requested, third-party vendors including Google may place or read cookies in your browser, or use web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers as a result of ad serving. Those technologies can support ad delivery, measurement and, depending on the ad-serving configuration and your choices, personalization based on prior visits.
