Public data. Visible provenance.

Source dates and retrieval dates answer different questions. We show both where the providers supply them.

Source documentation reviewed October 6, 2026.

This date records our documentation review, not a field visit, soil sample or drought-map date. Live reports retain the dates supplied by each provider.

U.S. DROUGHT MONITOR

Weekly county context

Cumulative drought-area percentages and dated map weeks. Regional context, not moisture sensors at a house. Please cite the U.S. Drought Monitor with the National Drought Mitigation Center (NDMC), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The U.S. Drought Monitor is produced through a partnership among NDMC, USDA, NOAA and NASA.

U.S. CENSUS BUREAU

Location & county

Approximate street-address matches and county identification. Address interpolation is not a building-footprint or property-boundary survey.

Census geocoder documentation

Census geocoder attribution: Address matching uses U.S. Census Bureau Geocoding Services. GroundShiftCheck is an independent service and is not endorsed or certified by the Census Bureau. Geocoding Services documentation ↗

The geocoder calculates or interpolates coordinates from Census address ranges. A returned match is not proof that a structure exists at that exact point and is not a parcel or building-footprint survey.

Independent interpretation, not endorsement

GroundShiftCheck is not a government service. Our interface, summaries and screening choices are independent. Sources can be incomplete or temporarily unavailable; unknown values are not replaced with reassuring numbers.
